[How to]Hack/Install/Update Android ICS on Amazon Kindle Fire

We had earlier updated on our blog about the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet. The Kindle fire tablet was expected to give competition to the Apple iPad as per the words of various tech gurus. The Amazon Kindle Fire Wifi/3g is available at a low cost in comparison to Apple iPad but fully loaded features.

Pre Requisites:

1. First you need to root Amazon kindle Fire by following the instructions from here. (Ensure that the current firmware is 6.0.2 as it’s the latest firmware for your Kindle Fire)
2. After rooting the device, ensure that the Kindle Fire is left with the minimum of 60% battery charge so as to ensure that the device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of updating process.
3. Be informed that as of now there is no procedure to revert back to the stock firmware, so just in case if you wish to revert back to your original current firmware then you need to wait for us to come with an appropriate article for roll back of firmware.

Steps to Update Amazon Kindle Fire with Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.3 firmware version:

• Before proceeding, Download ICS 4.0.3 Beta (This update is of about 91.78 MB.) build in your computer after which you need to connect your Kindle Fire to the computer using the original USB cable which you got at the time of purchase.
• Up next you need to disconnect the connected cable and turn off the Kindle Fire so as to enter into the recovery mode. Now, turn ON the Kindle Fire normally and when you see the Yellow triangle then you need to press and hold the button till you boot the device in the TWRP mode.
• Now, in the TWRP, you need to select the options which are data factory reset, wipe cache and wipe Dalvik cache which will ensure that all the cache files are deleted so that you can now proceed to the next step.
• Now, select “install” and choose the file which you have placed in your Amazon kindle Fire in the initial step. After this, you need to select “Flash” so as to flash this ICS firmware in your device.
• It will take round about 10 minutes so as to apply this firmware in your device, after this once it’s done you will again land up in the recovery mode screen
• In the recovery mode, you need to select “reboot system now” to reboot the phone. So, that’s it once the device is rebooted, you will see that the device is on the latest firmware version which is the ICS Android 4.0.3 version.

Download /Install /Play Elder Scrolls Skyrim on Mac without Boot camp

Now you can run Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim directly in Mac OS X thanks to the Porting Team’s unofficial Mac port of the freakishly popular game. The game is played either through a Cider wrapper or Wineskin, the latter being easier but the former apparently having better performance, but in both cases you’ll need to own a Windows copy of the game to get it working.

Skyrim Mac requirements:

OS: Mac OS X 10.5.3 (Recommended 10.5.7)

Processor: Intel Dual Core 2.0 GHz

Memory: 2 GB RAM

Hard Disk Space: 6 GB Free HDD Space

Video Card: Dedicated Video Card with 512 MB of RAM

Cider Wrapper
For the Cider Wrapper you need skyrim to be installed on windows based computer. Do this via a virtual machine or a physical machine.
Update the game, when running some downloaded versions check for the latest releases of cracks or missing files.
Download Cider Wrapper here.
Unzip the download files., you should see three files:

• ReadMe
• Skyrim Preferences.app
• The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim.app

Right click “The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim.app”, show package contents. Navigate to
“/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim”

Copy all the files inside your previous installed skyrim folder, found on the windows machine under :
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda…”

Paste the full content inside the .app file.

If you have any previous saved games or preferences files copy them to:
“/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/%USERPROFILE%/My Documents/My Games/Skyrim”

Before running the game start the “Skyrim Preferences.app” select the “The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim.app” you just modified (first time only).

Run the app and it should work.
If you find you have a slow mouse, change the mouse sensitivity under options.



Wineskin
Compared to the Cider Wrapper the wineskin is strait forward. Run wineskin and install the game via the app. To run the game itself use the launcher.exe file.

To Changing Video Settings
This can be done through the "Skyrim Preferences" application

Again if you find you have a slow mouse, change the mouse sensitivity under options.


To Play Skyrim on Mac via Steam follow the steps here:

1. Get a free trial of crossover (or run steam in wineskin or other suitable emulator)
2. Install Steam
3. Set Skyrim to downloading (expect to wait upwards of an hour depending on  connection)
4. Enter the bottle / wineskin and navigate to the steam folder, this is done on crossover by: >Using the Configure Menu -> Manage Bottles; >Hit the Advance tab -> open c: drive in finder
5. The path for Skyrim should be something like drive_c / Program Files / Steam / steamapps / common / skyrim
6. Download Cider Wrapper here.
7. Once extracted open the folder (you should see a read me, skyrim prefs & The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
8. Right click on The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim -> Show package contents 
9. Navigate through resources -> transgaming -> c_drive -> program files -> The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim (all that will be in here is %USERPROFILE% folder)
10. Copy all the files from the Steam skyrim folder to the one you just opened
11. Close all your finder windows
12. Reopen the Cider wrapper folder and run the Skyrim Preferences app it will appear the open up a finder dialogue, point it towards the The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim app within the cider wrapper folder. This will let you set the screen size and quality
13. Thats it 
14. Run the The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim App in the cider folder and you should be up and running

Now download and Install gameloft on android

Steps:

1.       Install the apk file-> run  game-> later in  download data option select ‘y’ or ‘yes’

       let it start a bit then cancel and exit the game.

2.       You will need software called GLZip_v1.0.4.rar .(Extract the s/w and run GLZip.exe) 

3.       Click on ”View links in apk ” and browse to the apk file for which you need the data

Download / Play League Of Legends(LOL) for Mac

League of Legends, aka LoL, (video) is an amazing DotA style MOBA game. It’s got to be my favorite game currently. Problem is, for a Mac gamer,is that this game runs only on windows. However, there’s a Mac client out there and it works just fine, just that there seems to be no way to install it. It’s one of the best games on Mac, just impossible to play. Until now.

I spent such a long time looking for a way to get the Mac client, and I found it, so I want to share the knowledge with the rest of the community so they don’t have to spend an entire week searching the Internet like I did. Anyways, I’ll put the instructions in an easy to follow, numbered order. Just follow them and You’ll have LoL working on your Mac.

It’s the most amazing free game I've ever played, I highly recommend you should check it out even if you're not a fan of the game style.

As for system requirements, I'm not sure about it. It runs more then perfectly fine on my MacBook Pro running 10.6.6

1. First step is to make an account if you don’t already have one. Just go to the account creation page and fill in the required fields. This takes less then a minute.
2. Once you have an account, you can download and install the disk image found here.
3. Mount the disk image and run the installer. I believe this installs the Pando Media Booster (required to play the game?) and the LoL Mac client installer.
4. Run the file you just installed. This will install the actual client and Adobe Air (also required to play?) People I’ve helped so far have had problems with this step if they don’t install Adobe Air or if they install the game under
   
   Macintosh HD/Users/yourname/Applications
   
   instead of
   
   Macintosh HD/Applications
5. Now that the file’s downloaded, you need to run it. IIRC, some generic windows will open and then close, and then the game won’t work. Next step is the hardest part of the installation.
6. You need to download and unzip this file. You then need to take the 3 items in the unzipped folder and copy them. Then right click on the League of Legends file under applications and select “Show Package Contents”. Navigate to
   
   Contents/Resources/Transgaming/c_drive/rads/projects/lol_launcher /releases/0.0.0.15 /Deploy
   
   There will be one file there. Delete it, and paste the 3 files you copied earlier.
7. Launch the client, and then it will install the latest patches. It usually gets stuck near the end and you have to force quit it and then launch again.
8. That’s it! You’re ready to play! I hope you enjoy the game on Mac as much as I do 

Some other things that will help you enjoy the Mac client to the fullest extent:

• It doesn’t currently seem to support USB headphones . You can work around this by using ones that use the headphone jack or just using your computer’s regular speakers.
• When you’re done with a window, it minimizes instead of closing. This isn’t a big deal, just don’t mess around with it and nothing bad will happen.
• If you do something out of the ordinary (such as let your computer go to sleep while the game is running) It occasionally won’t quit properly so next time you try to launch it, it won’t run. To fix this you need to either log out and log back in, or restart the computer. The game will be back to normal as soon as you do this, so you can go back to having fun.

Another simple Solution:

This is only a simple list with a few easy steps you must follow:

1) Go to www.boompje.net and download League of Legends.

2) When you're done downloading, double click the downloaded file and let it mount.

3) Click the installer and install League of Legends for the Mac. If you run into problems, you can check the next posts for a solution or post here, I will answer as soon as possible.

4) Select your server (NA, EUW or EUNE) and let it patch and update all the way!
This will take up at least 30 minutes up to 3 hours. 

5) Join the chatroom named 'Apple Tree' for Mac users!

The Hobbit Characters
The following is a list of the protagonists and antagonists of J.R.R. Tolkien's book The Hobbit.

Bilbo Baggins -  The hero of the story. Bilbo is a hobbit, “a short, human-like person.” Commonsensical and fastidious, Bilbo leads a quiet life in his comfortable hole at Bag End and, like most hobbits, is content to stay at home. But Bilbo possesses a great deal of untapped inner strength, and when the wizard Gandalf persuades Bilbo to join a group of dwarves on a quest to reclaim their gold from a marauding dragon, Bilbo ends up playing a crucial role as the company’s burglar. Bilbo’s adventures awaken his courage and initiative and prove his relentless ability to do what needs to be done.


Gandalf -  A wise old wizard who always seems to know more than he reveals. Gandalf has a vast command of magic and tends to show up at just the moment he is needed most. Though he helps the dwarves in their quest (not least by making Bilbo go along with them), he does not seem to have any interest in their gold. He always has another purpose or plan in mind, but he rarely reveals his private thoughts.


Thorin Oakenshield  -  A dwarf who leads his fellow dwarves on a trip to the Lonely Mountain to reclaim their treasure from Smaug. Smaug’s bounty is Thorin’s inheritance, as it belonged to Thror, Thorin’s grandfather, the great King under the Mountain. Thorin is a proud, purposeful, and sturdy warrior, if a bit stubborn at times. As the novel progresses, his inability to formulate successful plans, his greed, and his reliance on Bilbo to save him at every turn make Thorin a somewhat unappealing figure, but he is partly redeemed by the remorse he shows before he dies.


Gollum -  A strange, small, slimy creature who lives deep in the caves of Moria beneath the Misty Mountains. There, Gollum broods over his “precious,” a magic ring, until he accidentally loses it and Bilbo finds it. We never learn exactly what kind of creature he is. Apparently, his true shape has been too deformed by years of living in darkness to be recognizable.


Smaug -  The great dragon who lives in the Lonely Mountain. Years ago, Smaug heard of the treasure that the dwarves had amassed in the mountain under Thror’s reign, and he drove them away to claim the gold for himself. His flaming breath can scorch a city, his huge wings can carry him great distances, and his armorlike hide is almost impenetrable. Smaug can speak and possesses a dark, sardonic sense of humor.


Bard -  The grim human who is the honorable captain of the guard in Lake Town, a human city built on Long Lake just south of the Lonely Mountain. With the help of information discovered by Bilbo and related by a thrush, Bard finds Smaug’s weak spot and kills him.


Beorn -  A man who can turn into a bear, Beorn helps Bilbo and the dwarves after their escape from the goblins.


Elrond -  The great leader of the elves at Rivendell. Elrond gives Bilbo’s group aid and helpful advice when they pass through Rivendell early in the novel. He is described in Chapter 3 as being “as strong as a warrior, as wise as a wizard, as venerable as a king of dwarves, and as kind as summer.”


Dark Lord Sauron -  An evil sorcerer and creator of the magic ring. Also called the Necromancer, Sauron is only mentioned in The Hobbit; he never actually appears.


Thror -  Thorin’s grandfather. Thror mined Moria, a series of caves under the Mountain, and discovered a wealth of gold and jewels. He became King under the Mountain, but before long, the dragon Smaug came and killed or scattered all of Thror’s people. The dragon has been guarding the treasure ever since, and Thorin wants to get back what is rightfully his.
Races


Dwarves -  Thorin’s group, composed of Fili, Kili, Dwalin, Balin, Oin, Gloin, Ori, Dori, Nori, Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur, none of whom is really developed as an individual character in the novel. The narrator describes dwarves unfavorably in Chapter 12, noting their greed and trickery. Some, however, are “decent enough people like Thorin and Company, if you don’t expect too much.”


Elves -  The first creatures in Middle-Earth. Immortal unless killed in battle, they are fair-faced, with beautiful voices, and have a close communion with nature, which makes them wonderful craftsmen. There are actually two different varieties of elves: the wood elves and the high elves. The wood elves reside in Mirkwood and, as a result, have more suspicious and less wise tendencies than their high relatives.


Humans -  Humans appear in the settlement of Lake Town near the Lonely Mountain. Tolkien emphasizes their mortality, their lack of wisdom, their discordance with nature, and their rampant feuding, but he does not describe humans as inherently evil in the same way that he characterizes goblins and Wargs.


Trolls -  Short-tempered and dull-witted creatures who will eat just about anything, the trolls are based on mythological creatures taken from Old English and Anglo-Saxon poems and on figures from popular fairy tales and folklore. Tolkien has them speak with a cockney accent, the dialect of lower-class Londoners, which injects a modern joke into the fantasy epic.


Goblins -  Evil creatures encountered by Bilbo and company in Chapter 4. Goblins are infamous for their ability to make cruel weapons and torture devices.


Wargs -  Evil wolves that join forces with the Goblins at the Battle of the Five Armies in Chapters 17 and 18. The Wargs haunt and pursue Bilbo and the dwarves soon after Bilbo acquires the ring.
