[How to]Hack/Install/Update Android ICS on Amazon Kindle Fire

We had earlier updated on our blog about the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet. The Kindle fire tablet was expected to give competition to the Apple iPad as per the words of various tech gurus. The Amazon Kindle Fire Wifi/3g is available at a low cost in comparison to Apple iPad but fully loaded features.

Pre Requisites:

1. First you need to root Amazon kindle Fire by following the instructions from here. (Ensure that the current firmware is 6.0.2 as it’s the latest firmware for your Kindle Fire)
2. After rooting the device, ensure that the Kindle Fire is left with the minimum of 60% battery charge so as to ensure that the device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of updating process.
3. Be informed that as of now there is no procedure to revert back to the stock firmware, so just in case if you wish to revert back to your original current firmware then you need to wait for us to come with an appropriate article for roll back of firmware.

Steps to Update Amazon Kindle Fire with Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.3 firmware version:

• Before proceeding, Download ICS 4.0.3 Beta (This update is of about 91.78 MB.) build in your computer after which you need to connect your Kindle Fire to the computer using the original USB cable which you got at the time of purchase.
• Up next you need to disconnect the connected cable and turn off the Kindle Fire so as to enter into the recovery mode. Now, turn ON the Kindle Fire normally and when you see the Yellow triangle then you need to press and hold the button till you boot the device in the TWRP mode.
• Now, in the TWRP, you need to select the options which are data factory reset, wipe cache and wipe Dalvik cache which will ensure that all the cache files are deleted so that you can now proceed to the next step.
• Now, select “install” and choose the file which you have placed in your Amazon kindle Fire in the initial step. After this, you need to select “Flash” so as to flash this ICS firmware in your device.
• It will take round about 10 minutes so as to apply this firmware in your device, after this once it’s done you will again land up in the recovery mode screen
• In the recovery mode, you need to select “reboot system now” to reboot the phone. So, that’s it once the device is rebooted, you will see that the device is on the latest firmware version which is the ICS Android 4.0.3 version.

Download /Install /Play Elder Scrolls Skyrim on Mac without Boot camp

Now you can run Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim directly in Mac OS X thanks to the Porting Team’s unofficial Mac port of the freakishly popular game. The game is played either through a Cider wrapper or Wineskin, the latter being easier but the former apparently having better performance, but in both cases you’ll need to own a Windows copy of the game to get it working.

Skyrim Mac requirements:

OS: Mac OS X 10.5.3 (Recommended 10.5.7)

Processor: Intel Dual Core 2.0 GHz

Memory: 2 GB RAM

Hard Disk Space: 6 GB Free HDD Space

Video Card: Dedicated Video Card with 512 MB of RAM

Cider Wrapper
For the Cider Wrapper you need skyrim to be installed on windows based computer. Do this via a virtual machine or a physical machine.
Update the game, when running some downloaded versions check for the latest releases of cracks or missing files.
Download Cider Wrapper here.
Unzip the download files., you should see three files:

• ReadMe
• Skyrim Preferences.app
• The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim.app

Right click “The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim.app”, show package contents. Navigate to
“/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim”

Copy all the files inside your previous installed skyrim folder, found on the windows machine under :
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda…”

Paste the full content inside the .app file.

If you have any previous saved games or preferences files copy them to:
“/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/%USERPROFILE%/My Documents/My Games/Skyrim”

Before running the game start the “Skyrim Preferences.app” select the “The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim.app” you just modified (first time only).

Run the app and it should work.
If you find you have a slow mouse, change the mouse sensitivity under options.



Wineskin
Compared to the Cider Wrapper the wineskin is strait forward. Run wineskin and install the game via the app. To run the game itself use the launcher.exe file.

To Changing Video Settings
This can be done through the "Skyrim Preferences" application

Again if you find you have a slow mouse, change the mouse sensitivity under options.


To Play Skyrim on Mac via Steam follow the steps here:

1. Get a free trial of crossover (or run steam in wineskin or other suitable emulator)
2. Install Steam
3. Set Skyrim to downloading (expect to wait upwards of an hour depending on  connection)
4. Enter the bottle / wineskin and navigate to the steam folder, this is done on crossover by: >Using the Configure Menu -> Manage Bottles; >Hit the Advance tab -> open c: drive in finder
5. The path for Skyrim should be something like drive_c / Program Files / Steam / steamapps / common / skyrim
6. Download Cider Wrapper here.
7. Once extracted open the folder (you should see a read me, skyrim prefs & The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
8. Right click on The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim -> Show package contents 
9. Navigate through resources -> transgaming -> c_drive -> program files -> The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim (all that will be in here is %USERPROFILE% folder)
10. Copy all the files from the Steam skyrim folder to the one you just opened
11. Close all your finder windows
12. Reopen the Cider wrapper folder and run the Skyrim Preferences app it will appear the open up a finder dialogue, point it towards the The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim app within the cider wrapper folder. This will let you set the screen size and quality
13. Thats it 
14. Run the The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim App in the cider folder and you should be up and running

Install / Downloading gameloft games data (for android) using PC


Bored using WiFi and slow 3g connections for downloading gameloft games . Here's the solution:
Now download and Install gameloft on android

Steps:

1.       Install the apk file-> run  game-> later in  download data option select ‘y’ or ‘yes’

       let it start a bit then cancel and exit the game.

2.       You will need software called GLZip_v1.0.4.rar .(Extract the s/w and run GLZip.exe) 

3.       Click on ”View links in apk ” and browse to the apk file for which you need the data

4.       Depending on the device you use

a.    DXT= Motorola Device 

b.    PVRT= Samsung Device 

c.    ATC=  HTC/Sony Ericsson Device

   Copy the appropriate link and download it using any download manager (Example:  IDM)
